Theatresports

Theatresports In general

Theatresports is a loose and playful form of improvisational theatre that you may already know from television programs such as ‘Whose line is it anyway’. It is fun to watch but even more fun to do yourself!

Theatresports

In theatresports, two teams take turns challenging each other to play a scene. All scenes are fully improvised on stage based on suggestions from the audience. For the competitive nature of theatrical sports, the scenes will be judged by a number of strict but fair judges on content, technique and entertainment. The audience can show their appreciation by throwing roses towards the players and usually also get the opportunity to hand out a number of points. Contrary to what the term competition suggests, the main goal is not necessarily to win, but to create a beautiful and entertaining performance together.

Game forms

In theatresports, the scenes are often shaped by one of the many games.
